Restoration Project of Markar School in Yazd: Thesis by Shahrokh Kalantarifar

Shahrokh Kalantarifar successfully defended his thesis on the restoration project of Markar School in Yazd, earning top marks.

According to a report by the Hamazur Association, Kalantarifar’s senior thesis defense took place on Saturday, Mehr 14, 1403, at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture (Rasoulyian). The defense, which focused on the restoration of Markar School in Yazd, was attended by a group of prominent professors specializing in the restoration of buildings and historical structures. Kalantarifar graduated with honors.

In a conversation, he shared that his primary goal is to form an expert advisory board dedicated to the preservation of Zoroastrian buildings and historical monuments, ensuring these treasures are passed down to future generations.

Born in 1354 in Yazd, Shahrokh Kalantarifar is son of Morvarid and Jamshid. He holds an associate degree in mechanics from Ardakan Azad University and a bachelor’s degree in tourism management from Yazd University of Cultural Heritage. His passion for the restoration of historic buildings began in his youth, leading him to pursue a master’s degree in 1399 in the field of restoration and revival of historical buildings. He was admitted to the daily program at Yazd National University with a rank of 70.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Kalantarifar is actively involved in social and cultural projects. He is a member of the Hamazur Association and has also been a long-time member of the Mazraeh-ye Kalantar Association and Yaneshwaran Mantra.
