The statue of Cyrus the Great stood tall in the heart of Tajikistan

The statue of Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid dynasty, was unveiled on Friday, December 22, in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

In the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Cyrus in the capital of Tajikistan, Rostam Imamali, the mayor of Dushanbe and the head of the National Assembly of the Tajik Parliament, and Zulfia Dowlatzadeh, the Minister of Culture of this country, were present.

In the ceremony of unveiling the statue of this famous figure of history, Rostam Imamali, by thanking its creators, called the installation of the monument of Cyrus the Great a sign of great appreciation for the merits and honoring of the historical figures of the Tajik people.

Many in Tajikistan consider this event “important” and another step in preserving the culture of their ancestors. Cyrus is one of the lasting figures of history. In recent years, attention to his personality and actions has increased in Tajikistan. The three-meter-high statue of Cyrus the Great has been erected in the Garden of Cyrus the Great next to the Dushanbe City Opera and Ballet Theater.

This famous Achaemenid king ruled a large area of Asia between 559 and 529 BC, which included present-day Tajikistan.
