Qazvin orchards and Tuyserkan walnut orchards are nationally registered

The agricultural heritage system of Qazvin traditional orchards and Tuyserkan traditional walnut orchards were registered as the 5th and 6th globally significant and globally important agricultural heritage systems (GIAHS) in FAO.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, as reported by ISNA, the Institute of Research on Planning, agricultural economy and rural development, informed that, in the meeting of FAO JIAS scientific advisory group, the two agricultural heritage systems, namely Qazvin Traditional orchards and Tuyserkan traditional walnut orchards have been registered globally by this international organization, as the 5th and 6th systems in the world heritage lists.

Based on this report, Iran has gained fourth place in the GIAHS by registering these two agricultural heritage systems.
