Dr E. Ekhtiari made the first flight of Pardis Aviation Center in Yazd

On the occasion of commemorating the liberation of Khorramshahr, with the presence of national and provincial officials, the Aviation Center of Yazd Science and Technology Campus was opened to provide modern aviation training.

Dr E. Ekhtiari made the first flight of Pardis Aviation Center in Yazd, holder of pilot license (C.P.L.-U.L.) and advanced project management degree (P.M.P.), (with articles and inventions in his name), on 3rd Khordad 1402 (June 2023) with flight from Pardis Science and Technology Aviation Center, put this center into operation. The CIO of Pardis Aviation Center stated in this ceremony: One of the required fields in the aviation industry is the general aviation sector, which includes all the activities of design, construction, maintenance, flight, and other area that are planned and operated outside the military sector, and for this has the license from National Civil Aviation.

Ekhtiari, Zoroastrian representative in the 11th round of the parliament, added: “With years of effort and support of the authorities, the first aviation airport in the Yazd tourism area will be put into operation under the name of Pardis Aviation Center. We hope to have taken a small step in serving our people.”

The CEO of Parsis Aviation Center said: “We have more than 220 general aviation airports in the country. Unfortunately, many of them are abandoned. Interestingly four such airports are in Yazd province: 3 located in Abarkooh and one in Bafq, which were built in the 40s and 50s (official calendar). This number of airports does not include military airports, and unfortunately, they are not used.

Ekhtiari, a member of the Education and Research Commission of the Parliament, continued: Every year, more than twenty thousand people die on the country’s roads due to accidents, which can be prevented by using the general aviation and air emergency services, to save human lives; I proposed this idea in 1394 (2015) for the Taft-Yazd Road, they replied that it was impossible.

The Director General of the Domestic Tourism Development Office of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, stated that there are more than 220 airports in the country whose capacities are not used, and their recovery is on the agenda, and added: Airports help a lot in the tourism industry.

Mostafa Fatemi Firouzabadi stated: “The renovation of these airports have started, and two airports have already been renovated so far.”

He added: “The art of the people of Yazd is to take advantage of their limited assets and use these potentials with creativity and innovation. Fortunately, the establishment of Pardis airport in Yazd as a recreation, entertainment, and tourism center is one of the perfect decisions, and being put into operation today.

The governor of Yazd said in the opening ceremony: “Paying attention to the general aviation and utilizing the capacities of this industry, while helping tourism to prosper, is also essential in the air emergency sector and can save the lives of many of our countrymen.”

Mehran Fatemi considered the desert to be one of the unique attractions of Yazd province and said: “The desert of Yazd is very attractive, and its short distance from the city allows the public to use it.”

He said: hotels and desert camps in Yazd are among the most important tourist attractions.

Pointing out that the investment on the Pardis aviation project was made with the efforts of Dr Ekhtiari, Dr Fatemi added: “Currently, three airplanes are stationed in this place, and general aviation training is provided in this place.”

The governor of Yazd added: “The Pardis science and technology aviation center of Yazd is a wonderful initiative in the tourism and general aviation training business.”

Fatemi stated: “It is necessary to develop air emergency and air taxis in these areas gradually, and modern air transport system should be improved day-by-day.”

In the end he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Dr Ekhtiari, representative of the Zoroastrians in the Islamic Council, especially for drafting the law for leap in ground science production and other progressive laws.

He stated that among the parts emphasized in the law of knowledge ground production leap, is that any expenses incurred by private companies in the development of science and technology and also the ecosystem, will be deducted from their final tax, and this will encourage investment in this area.

Pardis science and technology and aviation center of Yazd, with an approach to air tourism is established in a piece of land measuring 12 hectares, as the following characteristics:

  • The infrastructure of 1500 square meters
  • Runway length of 800 meters
  • Runway width of 18 meters
  • The ramp of 60 meters by 60 meters
  • Hangar of 750 square meters

With an investment of 1000 billion Rials equal to one hundred billion Tomans (based on 1402), this center has created employment for 14 people.
