With the financial support of the owner of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association school and the help of benefactors

The reconstruction of Marker High School in Yazd has been completed

The rebuilding and improvement of Marker Girls’ High School for the first  grade in Yazd were finished with the financial support of the school owner of the Zoroastrian Association of Tehran and the help of benefactors.

The improvement and construction of the educational space of the historical high school of Marker have been completed with the collaboration and efforts of Farahnaz Chehelmard and Omid Dorost, Zoroastrian members of the parents and teachers association, and support from other donors, and a suitable educational environment for the cultural growth of nearly 200 girl students have been provided. Renovation work started in 1400 (2021) and has now been finally completed. About the process of renovating this 90-years-old building, Farahnaz Chehelmard told Amordad: “Renovation of Marker Middle School for Girls includes renovation of the basement and construction of two classrooms, Chinese porcelain and flooring of the yard and terrace, flooring of the roof of Shirin Khodaparast Hall, installation of air conditioners in the new place, renovation of office stairs and wall, and installation of a water cooler was completed with the financial support of Tehran Zoroastrian Association, the owner of the Marker Middle school for girls, amount to one hundred million tomans, and the approval of the Cultural Heritage Department and the help of benefactors in Esfand 1401.”

She further added: “For the facilities in the classrooms, with the help of the new principal, Mrs Eslami, who cooperated very well, we have so far managed to get the lighting and heating package, and the cost of its piping. The entrance door to the yard has also been changed. The doors and windows of two classrooms have been installed. computers, tables, chairs and lab equipment have requested and followed up, but as yet no promise for cooperation has been given to the School. The new association of parents and teachers of the school should follow up and demand the cooperation of the Department of School Equipment and Renovations. The department of renovation has allocated very little funds to schools; for students to be able to benefit from this new building, people’s aid will be crucial for completion of this project, just as when the construction and renovation work of the school would not be possible without their aid.
