Houman Abyari received the national referee card by passing the volleyball refereeing course and upgrading to men’s national level.
The referee committee of volleyball federation published the names of the candidates accepted in the men’s national refereeing class on December 10, 2022. Houman Abyari is the second name among the 18 accepted as national referee. In a conversation with Amordad, he said that he started refereeing in 1388 by participating in the Wahman Cup courses organized by the Yaneshvaran Association of Yazd. In 1390, he continued his journey with more motivation and perseverance after receiving the third-degree arbitration verdict. In 1395, he successfully passed the first-class refereeing course in Semnan.
1396 and 1397 (2017 and 2018) were the peak years of this young Zoroastrian’s refereeing career. After evaluating his excellent performance and efficiency by the head of the refereeing committee of the province and the city and the decision makers of the championship games of the Yazd province, he was chosen as the referee of the crucial semi-final game. Then, in the same period, together with his friend Mohammad Reza Dehghani, who had recently become a national referee, he also refereed the challenging final game. Last year, he could not participate in the national refereeing classes during his military service. This year, he was recognized as one of the top three. The refereeing class for promotion to men’s national level was held by the Volleyball Federation under Ebrahim Firouzi and Mohammad Shahmiri, Iranian international volleyball referees, in December. Among the 33 participating referees, 18 successfully finished this course. Following the announcement of the judges’ committee, the names of the accepted men’s national class are as follows:
