the Zoroastrian association of Rahmatabad, Yazd, organized an Afringan ceremony on occasion of the death anniversary of ashu Zarathushtra, the only divine messenger of Iran.
The Afringan khani ceremony was held on Khor (kheir) Izad day of the month of Dey 1401, equal to Monday 5th Dey 1401 (official calendar), at 17:30 at Adorian Hall in Rahmatabad. In this ceremony Mobed Kurosh Niknam delivered a speech.
In the Zoroastrian calendar, Kheir (Khor) day in Dey equals the fifth day of Dey (solar calendar), the death anniversary of the messenger of knowledge and wisdom, joy and happiness, productivity and development, and the three virtues: good thoughts, words and deeds. Ashu Zarathushtra, the messenger of ancient Iran and the world’s first monotheist, introduced monotheism to the world’s people. He wrote the Gatha hymns, the oldest part of Avesta. Zarathushtra’s teachings formed into the Zoroastrian religion, which was the official religion of Iran for nearly 5 centuries. Based on the thought and beliefs of Ashu Zarathushtra, a person should use the power of reason, conscience, intellect, and emotion throughout his life. He should develop his body and soul for the material world and the spiritual world.
