Sayna Soltanipour won first place in Yazd province in the women’s Kyokushin (karate) provincial competition.
Sayna Soltanipour won the gold medal in the committee category, free age category, weight 55 kg in the first freestyle karate tournament of Yazd province. Sayna has been working in the Hon Kyokushin style for almost two years. Winning two-second places in previous committees and one second-place in kata competitions are other honors of this young Zoroastrian athlete.
Sayna, daughter of Mehri Pourbehmardian and Afshin Soltanipour, is currently studying in the 9th grade of Markar Girls’ High School, the first grade, in Yazd. Sasha, Sayna’s brother, has also won the gold medal in the Kyokushin freestyle competitions of Yazd province. The grandfather of these heroic brothers and sisters, Iraj Soltanipour, was a karate coach and motivated them to pursue karate and their hard work.
Yazd Provincial Karate Board organized this tournament hosted by Kyokushin Oyama and Shorin Kempo with 392 karatekas from Yazd, Mehriz, Bafiq, and Ardakan cities on Azar 4, 1401 (December 2022) at the Shahid Sadoughi Sports Hall in Yazd.
