Tourists visit Qasr Firoozeh graveyard

On the occasion of Shahrivargan and Father’s Day, a group of tourists visited Qasr Firoozeh graveyard, on 27th and 28th Amordad, 1401, in memory of the spiritually elevated fathers of Iran and the Zoroastrian fathers and nobles who were influential for the history of Iran.

Shahram Shahriar reports:  This program was carried out in 2 days, and the tourists honored the memory of the great men and the martyrs of Iran.  Necessary coordination for this program was done by Afshin Namiranian, head of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, and Babak Shahriari and Farzad Khadem acted as tour guide during these visits.

Shahrivargan, like other monthly festivals, is when Sharivar day coincides with the month of Shahrivar. In the Zoroastrian calendar, the year is divided into 12 months and each month into 30 days; each day is decorated with a name. The fourth day of each month in the Avestan calendar is called Shahrivar, and the sixth month of the year is called Shahrivar. The celebration of Shahrivargan is celebrated in honor of the name of the day and month of Shahrivar, and the masculine characteristics of this Ahurai attribute (Sahrivar Amshaspand). This day, in the country’s official calendar, falls on 30th Amordad.
