Research and invistigations in the Nasr city of Torbat Heydarieh result in identifying a Parthian site and two other historical structures.
Head of the National registration of historic, cltural and natural heritage of the General Drectorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Khorasan Razavi said: “3 historical sites were found in the area of Nasr city, Torbat Heydarieh. As reported by Mehr, during a field visit to Nasr, on Tuesday morning, Mahmoud Toghrayi added: “In the archaeological studies that were carried out to determine, document, and register the historical monuments of the region, a valuable historical area from the Parthian era was discovered and recorded.”
Mahmoud Toghrayi continued: “Historical reservoir and another historical site were identified and documented in Nasar, Torbat Heydarieh.”
He reminded: “Due to its unique geographical location, in addition to the presence of significant historic structures and sites, the Nasr region has numerous intangible heritages, especially in the field of customs and traditions, local and traditional food, and native games, all of which will be documented and registered in the intangible heritage list of Iran.
So far, 6 historical heritage works have been identified in Nasr area.
Also, Ali Mohammadi, the head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department of Torbat Heydarieh city, said: “6 historical heritages have been identified in Nasr; two of them have been registered in the list of national heritage, and preliminary steps have been already taken to register the other two, by the Department of Registration of Historical Heritage.”
Referring to the importance of preserving and introducing the intangible heritage of Torbat Heydarieh city, he added: “one of the valuable heritages of Nasr city is the native games, and every year, during Nowrooz holidays, these games are played in the form of competitions at district and provincial level.” The newly built city of Nasr is located within 130 km of Mashhad.
