The election of the 11th round of the religious commission of Shiraz Zoroastrian Association was held in the late Yazdani Hall of the Shiraz Zoroastrian religious, cultural, and sports complex. 17 candidates for membership in the religious commission had registered for the new cycle. With the Association’s approval they are now members of this commission and will participate in the respective meetings.
The election meeting was held to vote and elect five members of the board of directors and substitute members; At the beginning of the forum and before the voting, Armita Jamshidi Kalantari, head of the previous cycle, thanked the participants in the meeting and expressed her hope that the 11th round, like the earlier ones, would be successful in fulfilling its duties. After her speech, Shahram Pourdehi, representing the Association in this meeting, gave a speech, in which he pointed out the severe and sensitive responsibility of the religious commission in the growth and religious belief of students as the future torch bearers of the Zoroastrian faith, and for holding religious ceremonies and celebrations. He then thanked the last term of the commission for their efforts. He also gave an explanation about the method of voting and selecting members of the board of directors and said: “It is not right to think that all members are influential in all matter, but instead we should acknowledge that each member can present his/her valuable experience in a particular field, and with their interactions and offering their opinions, they are most useful in making various decisions. I hope that in addition to the members of the board of directors, other members will also attend the commission’s meetings so that they can take a step, with their opinions, towards the well-being and success of the commission in reaching its goals.”
Finally, the voting started, and after the counting of votes, Mitra Javanmard with 10 votes, Nahid Felfeli, Armita Jamshidi Kalantari, and Sima Gharib Shahi with 9 votes, and Mehri Falahati were selected as the main members of the board of directors and Parmida Koklari and Mahtab Gashtasbi as substitute members. Nahid Felfeli was selected as president, Mitra Javanmardi as Vice president, Mehri Falahati (Accountant), Sima Gharib Shahi (Secretary), and Armita Jamshidi Kalantari as archivist, so that the 11th cycle will start and its work officially. The election and selection of members, the 11th tour of the religious commission of Shiraz Zoroastrian Association, was held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 19:00.
