In coordination with executive committee of Great Adorian, Tehran, Ashtad Izad and the month of Khordad was commemorated in the presence of z number of community members, with consideration of health codes.

Commemoration of Ashtad Izad was held on the morning of Tuesday, Khordad 24, 101 (June 14, 2022), in a gathering of a number of Zoroastrians in the open area of Great Adorian, Tehran.  Public prayers was recited by Mahshid Marzbani followed by prayers for the health and happiness of all community members. After the prayers, in the same open area aerobics, stretch exercise and limbering up were performed under coach, Mehri Manouchehri, and accompanied by cheerful music. Then, Negar Bozorgchami, Ph.D in pharmacy from Sh. Beheshti University, spoke about back pain and sciatica, its causes, it diagnosis and the symptoms of the disease, methods of drug treatment and proper nutrition and control.

Dr Bozorgchami started her speech by providing information about the appearance of the symptoms, and how to diagnose this disease in individuals, and also about its common symptoms.  She then referred to the treatment methods with drugs, according to the physician’s diagnosis and prescription, and the appropriate time for drug use. She then introduced useful foodstuff, medicinal plants, and proper nutrition for patients, which the participants welcomed. Questions and answers followed this speech. Dr Bozorgchami was applauded and thanked for her support and assistance in the ceremony for commemoration of Ashtad Izad in Great Adorian.

In continuation, Mehrangis Zahabi narrated a story from Mowlavi’s (Rumi) Masnavi Maanavi and also offered the participants nuts. Mrs Zahabi wasl thanked for her cooperation and presentation of useful material. Then, Shirin Izadyar, on the auspicious occasion of Tirgan festival, distributed “arrow and wind” bracelets among the participants, which was welcomed. Also, with the help of Mahin Salamati, Parvin Shesh Baradaran and Pouran Khosravi, fried bread (sirog) was prepared and offered to the participants at the end of the ceremony.

The program continued with performance of pleasant songs by Shahin Shirmardi and accompanied by arboneh. In conclusion participants were entertained with cookies, tea, sirog (fried bread) and pashmak.
