Haddad Adel visits the Museum of Documents and Manuscripts of Mehraban Pouladi

During his Nowruz trip to Yazd, the head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature visited the Museum of Documents and Manuscripts of “Mehraban Pouladi.” In this museum, a part of the documents and manuscripts of “Mehraban Pouladi,” prominent businessmen, religious, political, and social figures of the Zoroastrian community in the Qajar and Pahlavi eras are exhibited. On Wednesday, Farvardin 10, 1401, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, President of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, accompanied by Ahmad Akhoondi Ebrahimabadi, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Yazd Province, visited the Mehraban Pouladi Museum of Documents and Manuscripts.

A rare collection of Avestan manuscripts, historical and commercial documents, personal letters, old coins and banknotes, stamps, and hundreds of manuscripts of Avesta, Vendidad, Yasna, Vaj Yasht, Gahanbar and Khordeh Avesta have been collected and displayed in the museum of documents and manuscripts.  The ceremonial hall, the coin and stamp room, the room with a well in it, the photography room, the tea house, and the shop are parts of this Zoroastrian museum in Yazd. Visiting this museum will make the audience more familiar with the customs, traditions, and culture of their ancestors through recorded images and will open the way for interested researches and scholars in this field.

Zoroastrian museum of documents and manuscripts, located at No. 36, Bamasi Alley, (150 m off Rostam Guive Reservoir), Yazd, is open from 9 am to 9 pm, and welcomes visitors and lovers of our ancestral culture and religion. For more information, you can follow the museum’s Instagram at @docmuseum.

This treasure has been collected through 7 years by the efforts of Mehraban Pouladi, a doctoral student in ancient culture and languages. On Esfand 13, 1,400 museums of documents and manuscripts was inaugurated in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
