Sepehr Mizanian won the gold medal at the International Astronomy Olympiad

Sepehr Mizanian, a Zoroastrian astronomer, won the gold medal of the 14th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Proud Iranian scholars won nine medals: two gold, five silver, two bronze, and an honorary diploma in the 14th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics. Sepehr Mizanian won one of the two gold medals of Iran in the 2021 International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics and added another valuable trophy to his scientific honors. The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics was hosted by Colombia from November 14 to 19, 1400, with 48 countries and online competitions.

Sepehr Mizanianzadeh, born in 2003, son of Katayoun Bamsian and Dr. Kambiz Mizanian, is currently a semester student of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology. He won the Iranian gold medal in The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad in 2019-2020. Sepehr received his primary education in Jamshid Jam Elementary School, and spent his first and second years of high school at Allameh Hilli High School for the Talented.  Knowledge of the night sky and the starry world motivated him to follow this field of study and win the international Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics. The gold medalist of The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics considered his interest in mathematics and arithmetic, spontaneous effort, gaining experience in extra-curricular astronomy classes and attending observation camps as the most import reasons for his success.
